National Erasmus Games is the national project of ESN Poland allowing foreign students from the whole Poland to take part in sport competitions almost like Olympic Games. During the eliminations in different Polish cities, we select the best teams, which are going in the national finals to compete for the best of the best title.

Competition is divided into three levels: local, national and international. During each phase, players compete in three different categories: futsal, basketball and volleyball. Every section can present at least one team, which consists of 11 participants, including 2 girls, which is a mandatory obligation. Local-level is held in each city. The winners of the local phase meet at the national level, organized by one of the sections of the Polish cities. After two days of national-level competition, the jury sums up all the points and announce official winner. The victorious team will represent ESN Poland during International Erasmus Games, held in one of the European cities.

The beginning of this project is based on many local sport initiatives, but the first big intercollegiate competition took place in 2009 in Warsaw as a part of celebration of XX anniversary of Erasmus Student Network. The main idea of the sport games was very popular, both among glad participants and enthusiastic organizers. Foreign students coming to Poland were practicing hard and pushed us to organize the next editions. As the result – in May 2011, representatives of 11 Polish cities competed to gain the champion’s cup.
