We are the Erasmus Student Network section at the Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska) and we are always ready to help you! :)
Our roots lay in 2005 when some students of our uni started the initiative of "Mentor" for foreign students. One year later the small group of 4-5 other students who were or wanted to go on exchange programs or just liked the idea of being in touch with foreign students decided that the "mentor" program was not enough. They had seen the lack of activities in the field of help for foreigners at our uni so they decided to establish an ESN section. One year of activities and projects was not wasted.
The Authorities of Warsaw University of Technology as well as ESN Poland noticed that we are doing our job well. So on the 15th of January 2007, we formally registered the ESN PW section at our Uni (at the Rector’s Register Office), during the National Platform in Warsaw (23-25 February 2007) on the national level (as all ESN sections agreed) and finally, we attended our first international event - Annual General Meeting in Prague (22-26 March 2007).
Now we are over 15 years old, there are about 40 members within ESN PW and lots of Alumni. Many are ex-Erasmus students, so we are aware of the needs of exchange students.
Each semester we gain new experiences while taking care of newcomers.
We are committed to assisting international students in getting the most out of their time spent in Warsaw on exchange. We help them by hosting activities like the Buddy Program and Orientation Week, among other events.
The Buddy Program matches each incoming exchange student with a local student at the Warsaw University of Technology's Warsaw, who will become their mentor and guide during their stay. The Buddy helps the exchange student get settled, shows them around the city, and introduces them to other students. It's a fantastic way to meet new people and learn more about Warsaw.
The Orientation Week is a week-long series of events and activities created to help exchange students get oriented and familiar with their new surroundings. During the week, we host presentations about the university and the city, guided tours of Warsaw, social events, and more. Orientation Week is a great opportunity to meet other exchange and local students and get a feel for what Warsaw has to offer.
